Summary
The two portable multi-functional drones CeyBee and CeyTwin developed by the University of Moratuwa startup have shown superior performance in aerial applications compared with the competitive drones such as eBee and E384, which are globally reputed. Despite the performance our drones fall short in other aspects such as product quality and user-friendliness, and market readiness.
In this view, this project intends to design two new drones CeyGull and CeyBell giving them the necessary edge over the other rival drones in the global market. Precision, endurance, user-friendliness, and price point have been thoroughly considered in the design of these two drones. It is quite apparent that our drones can be marketed with a healthy profit margin while being very competitive with the competing drones in the global market. Therefore, the two drones once launched as products will be able to grab some share in the global drone market creating a constant income source to Sri Lanka.
The two drones CeyGull and CeyBell can benefit many govt institutions by making their routine activities fast, accurate, cost-effective and efficient. Some of those govt institutions are as follows: Survey Department (for aerial mapping), CEB (for power line inspection), Wild Life Dept (for monitoring national parks), Police department (for traffic monitoring), Navy (for coastal surveillance), and Agriculture dept (for crop monitoring and yield prediction).
