Objectives

  1. a) To investigate an efficient biological control agent for Colletotrichum truncatum, a causal agent of anthracnose disease in chilli. b) Isolation, screening and molecular identification of potential candidates against Colletotrichum truncatum. c) Optimization of the culture conditions for the selected biological control agents. d) Isolation and Characterization of antifungal compounds produced by the antagonists. e) Evaluation of performances of the selected antagonists in practice. f) Investigation of the effect of antagonism on induction of defence in the plant. g) Development of a cost effective media for cultivation of the antagonists.
