Objectives

  1. a) To examine whether the herbal plants extracts of Salacia reticulate, Bambusa vulgaris, Vitex negundo,or Bridelia retusa are able to increase bone formation and decrease bone resorption in both in vivo (ovariectomized mice model) and in vitro (cell assays). b) To determine the herbal plants extracts (Salacia reticulate, Bambusa vulgaris, Vitex negundo,or Bridelia retusa) effects on osteoblastic cell differentiation and mineralization in in vitro. c) To determine the herbal plants extracts (Salacia reticulate, Bambusa vulgaris, Vitex negundo,or Bridelia retusa) effects on osteoclastogenesis in in vitro. d) To elucidate the Salacia reticulate, Bambusa vulgaris, Vitex negundo,or Bridelia retusa plant extracts effects on cytotoxicity and gene expressions levels in both osteoblasts and osteoclasts in in vitro.
