Objectives

  1. a) To study the polymorphism of RAPD markers in wild okra Abelmoschus angulosus and cultivated okra to identify linked RAPD markers with YVMV resistant genes using bulk sergegant analysis b) To develop SCAR markers using identified link RAPD markers with disease resistance in wild okra and resistant bulk. c) To tag YVMV resistant genes using developed SCAR markers d) To study the inheritance of MYMV resistance in Abelmoschus angulosus using two parents, F1 and F2 generations of Abelmoschus angulosus and MI-5 (virus susceptible parent)
