Objectives

  1. a) To determine the diversity of Anopheline breeding b) To determine the physico-chemical parameters of malaria vector breeding sites. c) To revise identification keys for Sri Lankan Anopheline fauna. d) To determine relative density and seasonal variations of Anopheles mosquitoes in Ampara, Batticaloa, Mannar & Trincomalee Districts. e) To identify possible entomological, environmental & ecological factors influencing the distribution of potential malaria vectors in selected Districts. f) To map potential malaria risk areas in selected districts of Sri Lanka based on the abundance of Anopheles vector mosquitoes and other geographic and climatic factors.
